In this lesson you will
- Learn how to find a desired specific component (Shift+Space)
- Filter input data
- Write filtered data into an Excel spreadsheet
- Learn about metadata propagation
How to find components 0:46
Shift+Space opens the Add Component dialog.
You don’t need to know the exact name of the component. Try looking for words that describe the desired functionality.
Inserting components on edges 1:17
It is possible to insert a component between two existing components by simply dropping it onto an edge.
Automated metadata propagation 1:34
For many components, CloverDX can automatically propagate metadata so that you don’t have to assign them manually to each edge.
Filtering data 2:35
You can use the ExtFilter component to filer data based on a true/false expression.
ExtFilter
1 ExtFilter > Filter Expression
Filter expression is a TRUE/FALSE condition that sends records out of ExtFilter to either first (TRUE) or second (FALSE) output ports.
2 Filter Editor
Local and remote files 5:16
CloverDX supports not only local files but also remote access for both reading and writing.
Remote file protocols supported:
FTP, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, Amazon S3, SMB, HDFS, WebDAV
CloverDX also supports compressed files natively. You can read one or multiple files from an archive, as well as read/write archives stored remotely.
Compression/archive support:
ZIP, TAR, GZIP
Writing Excel Spreadsheets 4:37
Use SpreadsheetDataWriter to output data to Excel format (.xls or .xlsx). For basic configuration, you don’t need to configure anything else other than the output filename. However, you can create complex forms, multiline records, etc. using the powerful mapping editor.
